Alibaba Invests in 11 Taiwanese Startups

Chinese Alibaba disclosed at its Taipei forum on August 22 that it has invested in 11 Taiwanese startups as of August 24 through its USD 300 million ATSBF (Alibaba Taiwan Start-up Business Fund), Commercial Times reported on August 24. 11 Taiwanese startups include citiesocial, 4Gamers, Amwise Diagnostics, Applier, Bitmark, Codementor, Health2Sync, iStaging, Jollywiz, NextDrive, and Viscovery are benefited and cover a wide range of areas: e-commerce, gaming, genetic and cancer diagnostics, AI, block chains, educational programming, big data analytics, smart home, and more. In addition, the company also offers Taiwanese startups cloud computing services through its subsidiary Alibaba Cloud, taking advantage of Taiwan's strength in talent development and broad experience in IT manufacturing, medical care, and emerging applications such as AI (Artificial Intelligence), VR (Virtual Reality), and AR (Augmented Reality).
